Christmas Blues…

Okay, so I’m having a bit of an issue…  I’m not too sure why, but I’m having a terribly hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year.  I don’t have a clue what it is, I mean life has been going wonderfully, but every time a Christmas song comes on all I can think is “I can’t wait for this season to pass…” I haven’t got a clue what it is.  All I want is summer back.  I guess maybe it’s just part of becoming a man…  Whatever it is I don’t like it.  Maybe once it is actually Christmas is here my mood about the whole thing will change.  I guess since it doesn’t really FEEL like Christmas my head is still in fall. The coldest it has been here is like 50…guess that’s why I’m having a harder time this year. Either way once Christmas day comes around everything will be better.

But either way I hope everyone has a happy holiday, no matter what you celebrate!

Christmas Parade Invasion

Hello everyone, I have neglected to blog in some time. I guess that’s due to the fact that I have kind of sheltered myself to the happenings of the world for some time now. But I have again opened my eyes, and I’m not liking what I’m seeing…

Okay, so what really set me off to the point that I’m ready to blog again is a Christmas parade. Seems sweet and innocent, right? Well that’s the way it should be. BUT, this certain group of individuals that like to call themselves (even though they have probably never opened a history book) the “Tea Party” invaded it. Well that’s fine. Everyone has a right to an opinion (no matter how ignorant) and everyone has a right to be in a parade (no matter how stupid they are) but what REALLY should NOT be going on is dressing up as Confederate Soldiers and flying a Rebel Flag, and instead of throwing candy like all the other floats, what do they throw? Copies of the constitution… I’m sorry, but this ignorant, racist, homophobic group REALLY crossed a line tonight. This was supposed to be fun and innocent, but this group made it into some form of protest.

I don’t know, maybe I’m making this into a bigger deal than it has to be, or maybe I am right and this group of neo-Nazis really crossed a line. Either way, if you’re reading this still, how about leaving me some feedback, good or bad. I want to know how everyone else feels, also I’d like to know how some of the Tea Party feels? Do you guys think they crossed a line? Or do you think they were just being dumb Tennessean hicks that don’t really know any better?

Peace & Love,

~Austin
